The premium cleaning kit is the full set, built around two brushes rather than one, each for a different kind of clean. It pairs the original 1971 record cleaner, full size, with the velvet brush for heavier jobs and the goat hair brush for fine, deep cleaning, both turned from Japanese Zelkova wood, plus a stylus cleaner, a cloth and a canvas bag to keep everything together.

For everyday dust, a quick sweep with either brush before you play lifts surface dust, following the grooves in the same direction they run as the record turns.

For a proper clean, use the record cleaner. Spray a little onto the cloth, or lightly onto the record, avoiding the label, then wipe following the grooves inwards. Both brushes can be used wet here: the velvet brush is the one for really dirty records, since it picks up dirt and grime well, while the goat hair brush has very fine bristles that reach deep into the grooves for a thorough clean. Give the goat hair brush time to dry before its next wet use.

For the stylus, the stylus cleaner handles both cleaning and static. Dip the applicator into the fluid to wet it, then brush from the back of the stylus, nearest the cantilever, forward towards the tip. A few light passes is plenty. Keep the fluid to the tip and let it dry before you play.
